Try a Little Tenderness, er Kindness

Otis Redding? Kindness? I can hear you mumbling. C’mon woman. I am sooooo busy.

Exactly!  And that’s why this piece is short. I simply want to draw your attention that we are officially in the season of Kind!

What exactly IS it?

My definition of Kindness is being considerate, compassionate, and understanding towards others. It is a universal language that transcends borders, cultures, and religions. And Kindness is a powerful force that can transform the world.

Did you know that Kindness has the power to make a positive impact on the lives of those around us? When we are kind to others, we create a ripple effect that can spread far and wide. Kindness can inspire others to be kind as well, creating a chain reaction of positivity.

And Kindness is not just about being nice to others. It is also about being kind to ourselves.

What are some simple acts we can all try this season? Here are a few ideas:

  • Be polite to those around us.
  • Offer a helping hand to someone in need.
  • Listen to others without judgment.
  • Offer genuine words of encouragement.
  • Take time for ourselves and do something that makes us happy.
  • Make the time to do something that makes another happy.

Research has shown it also has many health benefits. It can lower stress levels, reduce anxiety and depression, improve our overall well-being, improve our relationships with others, and make us feel more connected and supported.

In other words, kindness is good for both the receiver and the giver.

This season, consider spreading a lot more of this perfect salve.  I’m betting that many of us could use a big dollop after the last twelve months we’ve all had.
